memory post

My cute cousin (in-law) put this on her blog and I've since seen it on so many others, so I thought I'd jump on the band-wagon and do it as well. It's silly, but fun and I'm a little afraid to hear some of your memories of me, so bring 'em on...

The rules:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Sweet!! I get to be the first!! I better make it a good one then.....
So I remember this one time that you called a certain young child who was struggling with some "unique" features a telletubby, just as this child and their family were walking in the door. Good one Deb!
(Names not mentioned to protect the innocent)

(This is Ryan, by the way)

Good grief where to start?? EFY, Youth dances, summers at each other's houses, walking to your elementary school to play (why was that so much fun?), talking about boys, your family coming out for Conference Sunday, trying hide you when it was time for you to leave our house (as if your parents wouldn't notice you missing on the way home)... I could go on and on... but I'll stop with one more... being rained out of Yosemite and carried across the 'river' in that make shift trailer. :)

I remember when you came to craft night with freshly done nails and I had to do your craft for you. I don't think it was a coincidence :P

I was just remembering the other day when we took ourselves on a photo shoot. We thought we were so cute in our cut off shorts and my brother took our picutes...sitting on the bridge, smelling the wild flowers, doing handstands...etc. I have a darling one of you running through the field of honey mustard! I don't know what made me think of that the other day.

When I opened this post this was the first one that came to my mind... sleeping on the floor in your bedroom on Christmas Eve when we were younger- I didn't need a mattress cause I had your clothes to sleep on! Then waking up bright and early to see what Santa brought us although mom and dad would tell us to go back to bed, we were like 15 & 18 years old!

Oh Debra....I don't know if I'm allowed to post my first memories about you! Cause my first memories are stories that SCOTT told me!! Yikes! I'll have to get him on here to post some funny memories about you. I know he's got some.
But really, my first memories of you have always been great. Scott has always talked so highly of you and that you were always like a sister to him.

Where to begin...The fun part now is retelling your stories to your children. Explaining your obsession with your pager and calling back numbers to Taco Bell, Wal-Mart, random houses...taking "Charlie's Angel's" pictures at Janets funeral...Morrissey...coming to visit me in SLC and sitting in my living room and adding up how many boys you kissed with Kelli Merrick...I'll end there.

I wish I could post memories of you Debra. Unfortunately all of my memories have some perverted twist with you in them. I'll stop there. Let's just say I laugh and smile a lot when I think of you.

I have one ... you SCREAMED all night long one New Year's Eve ... when the whole family was staying at our home in Riverside ... (you must of had an ear ache) ... we were all so tired the next day - and you slept!!! That is the only BAD memory I can think of ... most of them about you are that you are almost always positive, happy and bubbly ... and a "SNAKE" as Uncle Dennis would call you - but we love you!!

As the Mom - my list could be endless, but I'll just document that you were born with dark brown hair and as you grew, you had blonde roots. Before you were 6 months old, I trimmed off the two-toned effect and when we got to Idaho for our vacation, Grandpa Crook wanted to know what we did with the baby in the pictures that had all the dark hair! Oh to go back in time and still have those blonde roots :). Love you Deb!!
