Lesson learned... the hard way.

It all started yesterday, when I went to the land of Wal*Mart, a place I despise, but tend to frequent more than any other place it seems. Anyway, the beloved Wal*Mart had all their school supplies on sale, so I thought I'd pick up a few things. The thought crossed my mind that my girls could use some "safety scissors" since they are getting old enough, plus they use them in their church classes and at friends houses... so why not have them in our house, right?

So this morning, after the talk (once again) about the proper way to hold scissors, and how you always need to ask to make sure the paper you're cutting isn't something important, off they went to cut paper into tiny pieces while I got ready for the day.

This is where it started. They're cute and pink, who could've thought something could go wrong?:

I then got a phone call and needed to go to work for a little while, so the girls then went to a neighbors house for a little bit. It wasn't until we got back that I noticed this:

AAAAAAAHHHHHH! So, here's where the damage was done. I know it could've been worse, like chunks out of her bangs or something, but still... I thought my girls knew that only mommy cuts their hair! Guess I thought wrong...

Good news is I guess Brenna will now have the tapered look in the front of her hair, so it's blendable, just agitating that she did it. Her response when I asked her why she did it was: "Mom, I just wanted to have short hair again, okay?!" No, Brenna- that's NOT okay! Silly 4 year old... too bad she's cute! JK!

Now they're in the pool having fun with a friend... as if nothing happened!

You knew one of them would have too much fun with the scissors! Good thing it is blendable and won't take that long to grow out! Oh Brenna cracks me up!!!!

OH NO!!! I guess it could have been worse... watch out, next time she might try to bleach her own hair too!

she could have done the Janna no bangs look! Classic! You knew it was only a matter of time. She's a nut!

Oh my! When I saw the photo of the scissors I had a feeling I might know where this was headed. Those pink scissors do look quite innocent don't they? Maybe Brenna wants to be a hair stylist when she is older.
