We love BAMBI

Okay, we're total dorks and I'm sure our neighbors think I'm training my kids to become peeping toms because you can almost always find them with a pair of "vinoculars" (Brenna lingo) staring into the neighbors windows... I mean- watching the deer on the mountains and sometimes in our front yard!

This morning I was in the garage watching Abby walk to the bus stop and I turned around to see 6, and then 8, and then 10 deer tromping around the corner of our house. I knew that calling Abby's name would scare them away, but I knew she'd be so bummed if she didn't see them- so I yelled, they looked at me in a creepy way, and then they ran as fast as they could- but it was okay because Abby saw them and that's all that mattered! All I could hear from Brenna in the house was "this is awesome- there's like millions of them!"

And again before we left to take Brenna to school- 3 more came through the front yard. And tonight I saw a couple deer at the end of the street and they kept coming and coming and coming (Harrisons, I'm sure you had lots of fresh tracks when you came home tonight!) and I tried to snap a few pictures. They weren't in our yard at this point, but they were close enough and we thought it was pretty cool! We're such dorks I say, but it is kind of cool to live in a place where they roam freely like this in the winter. Actually, it's a little sad because the news last night had a report that this winter has been so horrible (DUH!) with the cold temperatures and snow depths, the poor friends of Bambi are hungry. Abby wanted to share her goldfish crackers with them, but I told her I bet they are allergic to fish... she gave me a funny look and I don't know why.

how fun to see them right out front! everyday carter likes to see the horses and cows on the way to the gym and they are all enclosed, but he still gets a kick out of seeing so close!

So fun to have deer! All we get our ducks, lots and lots of ducks, but they do leave cute little webbed feet prints in the snow. I love the pictures of the girls looking out the windows.

k so i have to ask...are you a single mama? hey no judging, i've been there..it's rough. but the one good thing about it is that YOU get to decide how those sweet babies are treated everyday...sometimes, when my husband gets a bit carried away, i wish i was back to the days when my babies weren't teased and didnt see the "dad" figure being such a punk. you have beautiful girls! i hope you write back again!! it's fun to look at your fun quirky page!!
