weather woes

Abby & Brenna woke up a little on the early side this morning and were immediatley talking about the upcoming outing they've been promised to go on (with many bribes in place) with Aunt Sandie tomorrow. They've got plans to go to the zoo which A & B are thrilled about, but Sandie heard we might be having "weather" and not the good kind. Rain/snow or something is supposedly on it's way. A & B both ran in the other rooom proclaiming that they needed to watch the news, so I helped them get to the right channel and laughed as Abby told Brenna (with her hand cupped around her ear) to "listen closely for Saturday's weather to see if it says sunny or something else" and then every word that was said on the news was repeated to me, i.e. "two men are chasing Batman". Don't have any clue what that was about but it worried Abby. The final weather report says "a storm is on the way"... so their plans might be a changin'. When Brenna was saying good-bye to Abby this morning, she walked outside and said "the weather was right mom, it sure is cool & breezy out there, just like they said"!

Weather is a funny topic in my family because my brother-in-law Jason hates the snow more than anyone I know and he's the one we can always ask when we have questions about the weather... he's on the ball. During the winter, when A & B would hear about snow coming, they'd say "Oh no mom, Uncle Jasons not gonna like this". It's funny because he's so like my dad is some ways, especially things like this. Anyway, I jokingly call him Fritz Coleman, but we love Uncle Jay-Bird and just like to tease him!

I have to be careful because my girls are becoming slightly obsessed with the weather and maybe one day I'll have my own Fritz to raise, or a Johnny Mountain or even a Dallas Raines!
